Catch My Legs, 2008

"Catch My Legs" is a video installation about family tradition, history and self identity. It features a collective of women workers who harvest legs for a living.

This exhibition was exhibited at Soho20 Gallery in New York City, the New York Studio Gallery in New York City, Nexus Gallery in Philadelphia and the AD Gallery at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Why legs

In 2008 I interviewed my grandfather Kirby (also my sons name.) I asked him what he was afraid of? He said he used to be on the diving team in college. He would practice diving in a lake. He said was afraid that the weeds would “catch his legs and hold him there.”
